Tumor suppressor mutations

Tumor suppressor mutations

Tumor suppressor genes slow down cell division, to allow for the repair of DNA mistakes or induction of apoptosis in case of severe cell damage. The common TP53dysregulation mechanisms include deletion17p and TP53mutations. They are commonly associated with complex cytogenetics, older age, drug resistance, and poor prognosis. Treating patients with TP53mutations is a high unmet need.
